What you're about to read.

This blog will be focused on telling stories of experiences in my life that I feel are pertinent in explaining why I do not take life for granted and why we are all lucky to be alive.

I fully recognize that writing a blog centered around myself and my experiences is a self-centered and fairly narcissistic way of going about that. This blog is as much a diary for my own personal benefit received by reflecting and thinking about my past experiences as it is something for others to read.

One of my principals in life is to be open with whoever wants to take the time to know more about me. That could mean close friends, family, clients, employers, or complete strangers. I feel life is much easier and ultimately less stressful when you only have one face to show the world. This is a concerted effort to be open. This blog will be as uncensored.

There will be stories that make you cringe, some that make you laugh, and hopefully make you think. If you want to know the real Bill Bason, you are at the second best place (the best is obviously with me personally, but, unless your company is in need of marketing or you are a Virginia Tech professor who is berating my lacksidasical work, my time for personal meetings is very limited these days.)

The Bill Bason (I will from now on refrain using the third person) who is afraid of what others may think of him for writing a blog, or having his own personal website, is not the Bill Bason (whoops, did it again) I want to be. Much of this blog, my new website, and ultimately my life, has become more geared towards that concept.

If you think this is a dumb idea, no worries. Heck, tell me its a dumb idea. Create your own site and blog telling everyone how dumb it is. Shoot, pay Bason Marketing to come up with a high-budget advertising campaign to make sure everyone and their cousins know just how dumb you think it is.

If you want to know more about me, more about where I'm from, and where I've been, welcome, glad to have you along for the ride.
